Sherston Parish Council covers Sherston, Pinkney, Willesley and Knockdown. Membership comprises thirteen councillors who are elected for a four-year term and a part-time salaried clerk who is appointed by the Council.
Your councillors are a group of unpaid volunteers who care about our village and its people. Your councillors are a dedicated and caring bunch, who do their very best for the good and well-being of the Village Community.
Meetings are usually 7.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of every month (except August when there is no meeting) at the Village Hall unless otherwise stated on the agenda. The meetings are open to the public and there are opportunities to raise questions and issues both at the beginning of every meeting. Before the meeting there will be a public session to enable the electorate of Sherston to ask questions, and make comments, regarding the Parish Council. Members of the Public are asked to restrict their comments, and/or questions to three minutes. Questions not answered at this meeting will be answered in writing to the person asking the question or may appear as an agenda item for the next meeting. The Public Gallery is limited to a 20 minute period during which members of the public can speak for a maximum of 3 minutes. Once the meeting commences members of the public will not be permitted to speak unless the Chair invites and authorises it. Members of the public are asked to email the pyrex@furefgba.bet.hx if they wish to speak with relevant details prior to the meeting a minimum of 48 hours before the meeting.
We welcome your voice and your participation in your council.
Agendas and minutes for the meetings can be found on the Sherston Parish Council Noticeboard – adjacent to the Old School entrance and by visiting our Council Meetings page.
